Weslie Update: Neurology & Therapy
Right after July 4th, Weslie and I drove to Ft. Worth to meet with her neurologist. And it was a GREAT visit! He was excited to see how her legs were looking and about how strong her grip in her right hand has gotten. I was telling him that she was taking gymnastics and that she was still in therapy once a week.
He then turned to me and told me to take her out of therapy - that she was getting enough "therapy" in her everyday activities (and gymnastics) and that if we wanted to, she could take a bak from therapy.
So we came back to Waco, and talked with her therapist over the next week. And we are all in agreement that we will take the rest of the summer off, and only continue on with the weekly therapy if we get into a situation during the school year where she needs a little more help.
So for the first time since she was 7months old we WILL NOT be attending weekly therapy sessions! It's kinda weird. Something that had become such a habit. And we don't have to go anymore. Just a testament to how hard Weslie has worked and how far she has come in the last 4.5 years!
