Since moving to Texas, and unpacking everything that needed to be unpacked, the children and I havent really been doing much of anything. We run errands, we play around the house, we await the arrival of our Daddy (home from a long day of work.)
But on Wednesdays and usually one or two days on the weekend, we meet Caton and go to the Rec Center on campus. Since Caton works for the University, we can all get in for free! There is a huge indoor pool - complete with a slide, hot tub, lazy river, and what we call the "washing machine" (it's kind of like a whirlpool.)
Also in the Rec Center is an enormous rock climbing wall. And the other night, we let the older kids suit up and attack the wall.
At first glance, the wall is a bit intimidating...
...but Kade got right on it and shimmed up almost to the top!!!
Weslie wasnt the least bit scared either. She got hooked up....
...and with a boost from Daddy, she climbed about three or four feet higher than in this pic...
The kids looked like they had so much fun that I had to try it too! It was an awesome workout and my hands and feet were killing me the next day.
Definitely something that we will have to do again and again!!!
