On Christmas Eve day, Caton's family drove in from Alabama to spend the day with us. When they got here, we all ate lunch and visited for awhile. Then we had a small family birthday party for a special one year old...
He wasnt too sure about the cupcake. But he soon realized that it was something sweet...and he dove right in.
Uncle Charlie and Grandaddy, however, were party-ed out...and they took a quick nap on the couch...
For the remainder of the afternoon, the cousins got to play together...
...and eventually we all exchanged gifts with each other. Uncle Charlie was just excited to get to be around a little boy (he has 4 girls!!!)...
We gave Greandmomma and Grandaddy two picture frames. One that says, "Just the Boys"...
...and the other says, "Just the Girls."
After our visit, they packed back into the car to return to Alabama while we got ready and attended Christmas Eve mass.
On the way into Mass, they gave each child a golden halo to wear. And while it was a good idea in theory, it was just too much for Kole. He put it on, he took it off, he threw it at the people in front of us, he dropped it in the pew behind us, he even tried to take the little girl's in front of us off her head. Next year, we will forgo the halos!!!
After Mass we drove around to let the kids look at some Christmas lights. Then came home and allowed the kids to open a gift - new jammies.
Once the kids were jammied up, they went to sleep in anticipation of Santa coming to our house!!!
