Texas Bowl: Sunday and Zoo

On Sunday, we woke up late and hurriedly got down to the breakfast buffet. There was fruit and omelets and waffles....all made to order. Yummy, my mouth is watering just writing about it.

That afternoon, we were invited to the House of Blues to listen to some gospel music and eat a brunch. While I was still stuffed from breakfast, and didnt eat much...the music was awesome...and the kids and I were up out of our seats dancing to the beat.

That evening (Sunday), there wasnt anything going on...so we decided to venture out to the Galleria and see what we could find to eat. We ended up at the Cheesecake Factory. Everyone ate until they were blue in the gills...then saved a small amount of room to sample some cheesecake...pure awesomeness.

On Monday, while the team was practicing, we took the kids to the zoo. They knew that we were coming and set up guides to take us around the zoo. It was so nice to not have to try to figure out a map to be able to see all the animals that we wanted to see.

We started off with the cats...and of course spent some time admiring the tigers...

...and taunting the lioness...

...KK was able to come with us and spent the day at the zoo with us...

...we watched a sea lion show...

...and posed with silly monkeys...

...and big lizards...

...then we found this elephant statue, and had some fun with it...this was all the kids that were with us in our group...

...Kade by himself...

...Weslie by herself (kindof)...

...all the Moms in our group...

...After lunch, they gave all the kids a mask and had them all sit together for a picture.

...I think Weslie was the only monkey amongst all the tigers...but what a cute monkey she was...

...then we got to go ride the carousel...

Overall it was a very nice zoo!!! It was a bit chilly outside, but we toughed it out and saw some really neat animals.

We returned to the hotel for a brief nap and headed to the Rodeo Bowl that evening...
