They Call This Therapy...

Last week, we started back hot and heavy with Weslie's occupational therapy. Since the beginning of summer, it has been pretty sporadic...just because we were traveling, and the OT was traveling...but last week, we got back down to business.

On Tuesday, our OT decided that Weslie would benefit from some more kinesio taping. If you remember she was having her arm and hand taped earlier this year...and made HUGE progress with that. So we are excited that they are going to go back to what we know works. So she got her entire right arm taped up AND they are thinking that Weslie needs to strengthen her core muscles...so they taped her ab muscles too (thinking that this will help her to stand more upright and not have to work so hard with pulling her shoulders back to stabilize herself, therefore leading to more use out of her arm.)

Then on Thursday, our OT wanted to get out and have Weslie's session somewhere other than our house. So we met at a nearby playground and had "therapy" there. Of course the kids had no clue that we were there for OT...they just had a great time playing.

Weslie probably went down this slide no less than 10 times...she's an adrenaline junky!!!

climbing back up to go down again...if you look closely you can see the tape all on her arm...

...posing for Mommy...

...sitting on the "couch" (as Kade was calling it)...

Kade standing on the monkey bars...

sitting on the monkey bars...

laying on the monkey bars...

...where is Weslie???...

...another angle...

...on the couch again...

...Kade the brave climber...

...another monkey bar shot...(my fav shot of the day)

...looking through...

...going down the slide...that is our OT in the background...

...alittle sensory exploration...

...we went on a "nature hike" and Kade found a bunch of "treasures"...

...Wes on the OT's shoulders...trying to make her use her abs to hold herself up...
