A Day for Thanks (and Winning)

This Thanksgiving was spent in our cozy Texas home...with our Aunt Amy...eating and relaxing.

The kids and I went to pick up Amy from Dallas on Wednesday night.  We did the whole meal thing on Thursday evening, then she and I headed out to do some shopping.  We hit up Toys R Us first, and ended up standing in line to get into the store for about an hour and a half.  But upon entering, we pretty much got all of the shopping for the children done.

After TRU, we headed over to Target.  It wasnt as crazy of a place (as we walked right in) but once we scored a covetted item (for Kade) we made our way to the checkout line.  It snaked throughout the entire grocery department, and went back into the home goods department.  But right as we were getting in line, a worker told us that if we were going to pay with a Redcard, that we could go to the front of the line.  So we planned to pay for it all with Amy's Redcard, and headed that way.  But upon depositing all of our gifts on the conveyor, Amy realized that she didnt have her Redcard.  She asked the worker if she could look it up for Amy.  The worker said that they couldnt, but still allowed us to checkout!  So we scored BIG and didnt even have to wait in the LOOOOONG checkout line!!!

Then on Saturday, we boarded the bus to Arlington to go watch the Bears play against Texas Tech in the Cowboys new stadium.  To say that this place is beautiful is an understatement.  It is incredible!  We actually got to drive under the stadium (where the teams all go in) and we were ushered up different elevators in order to get to the proper level.

These two Bears were excited about being there...and getting to see our Daddy and his team become bowl eligible!!!

It came down to overtime, and the Bears were victorious!!!

So it looks like sometime around Christmas we will be headed to a bowl game.  Now we just need to win this coming weekend to better our chances for a bigger and better bowl.

Sic'em Bears!
