"Lay Over" in Arkansas

So all the while Kade was finishing up his baseball season, we were finishing up our time in Kentucky.  The packers came to our house and packed everything up in one day.  Then they returned the next morning and finished packing everything onto the moving truck.  And at about 11am on the day of Kade's game, we waved goodbye to everything we owned (hoping that it would all show up in Texas!)

Our plan then, was to stay in KY for as long as Kade's team kept winning.  And it just so happened that they lost that night, so the next morning, we got in the Tahoe and pointed it Southwest.  The plan was to drive to my aunt and uncle's house in Arkansas and stay there until the moving truck was delivered to our new home (no sense in moving in to a new home if there isnt any stuff there!!!)

What should have taken us about 9 hours to drive turned into an 11.5 hour tour.  It. Was. Brutal.  At one point we were in traffic that moved 4 miles in an entire hour!!!  AND to top it off, as we were sitting in said traffic, Kole pooped his pants, had it all over his hands, and was changed on the side of I-35...with all his glory on display.  (As a side note, his pants, I assume, are still on the side of the highway.)

Once in Arkansas, after eating an awesome home cooked meal, we went to bed for the evening.  The kids were tired, I was exhausted.

The next day, we woke up and played around Aunt Jackie and Uncle Max's house all day long.  The big kids fished off the dock and had a blast!!!

They are still talking about catching all the fish!!!  They also took golf cart rides, played with the dogs, and cut flowers to make a bouquet.  It was a little kids paradise!!!

On Saturday morning, we loaded the car once again and headed to Texas.  This leg took us about 6 hours (once again we hit some crazy traffic.)  But this time we were greeted by the waiting arms of our Daddy!!!  The children were screaming as we pulled into the driveway.  It was awesome!!!
