Dinosaur Night

Wednesday night, while Caton had to go get the football team ready for the game on Thursday, we went to "Dinosaur Night."

Kade was so excited...he hearts dinosaurs!!!

Once we got there, I was reminded why I dont attempt these kinds of activities without Caton's help. There were about 1000 parents with about 5000 kids!!! (This may or may not be an accurate number.) But there were ALOT of people there!!!

So we went about doing all the activities...like crawling in the dinosaur caves...

...stomping around like a T-Rex...

...looking at bones...

...and inspecting them really, really closely...

...and making fossils...

Then came the part that Kade LOVED the most. There was a "real, live dinosaur!" (aka...an iguana) and Kade could have spent the rest of the evening touching that thing...
...which was fine...until the handler decided, "Do you want me to take him out of his cage." And all the kids screamed, "YEAH!!!!" as all the parents quietly screamed, "What the h*ll are you thinking, you crazy man? NO, do not take that thing out of the cage!!!"

But he did take it out...and the kids went nuts touching it...

...until right after this picture...

...when it started licking its chops and looking at me and Weslie. That was when this Mommy called it a night!!!

(And dont think we didnt sanitize, sanitize, sanitize Kade's hands!!! But the handler assured me that unless the iguana bites you or scratches you, that you couldnt get salmonella. AND the guy told me that that thing was 26 years old!!! 26!!! I told Kade, "Buddy, that iguana was really old...he was 26!!! Can you believe that??" And Kade responded, "Yeah, that dinosaur was as old as you!!!" It just keeps getting better and better...if you are keeping count...that makes me having been compared to an orangutan and now a dinosaur...awesome.)
