Jesus in Real Life

While Mom was here, we went to WalMart one day. Outside there were some people collecting change for a Church. As we passed and went inside, I asked Mom if she ever gave money to "those people" - meaning anyone asking for change for a various organization. She proceeded to tell me a story that exemplifies how Jesus "shows" himself in our everyday lives.

Mom said that one year, she was headed home from Amy's basketball banquet and a man came up to her car, knocked on her window, and asked her for some money. He said that he had broken down and needed to get some gas to be able to get home. She didnt roll down the window (as she was not in a great part of town) and continued on her way...all the while thinking to herself that she should have given him some money...that maybe that was a "test" from God. She vowed that if that every happened again, she would definitely give the person some money...or at least help them out in whatever way she could.

Fast forward an entire year....Mom and Amy were coming home from Amy's basketball banquet, when a stranger came up to Mom and asked for some money saying that he had broken down and needed some gas to get home. Now Mom knew that she had a $20 dollar bill and a couple of $1 dollar bills in her wallet. As she reached in, she remembered the vow she made the previous time that this happened. She pulled out the $20 and gave it to the man. She said that the man was so shocked, he wanted Mom to give him her address, so that he could send the money back after he got home. Mom just smiled, and her and Amy went on their way.

So now, Mom always tries to give a few bucks to anyone asking for it...you never know when it could be Jesus "testing" us.

What is that scripture...Whatever you do for the least, you do for me...have you ever seen Jesus present himself in real life??? Let me know!!!
